De flamencoklok (2+) — The story follows the Flamencoklok, the lonely clock that counts in twelves (just like certain styles within flamenco) and longs to make friends—but everyone seems too rushed. Created as a playful exploration of time and our hurried society, the performance also introduces audiences to a variety of world music and dance styles, including flamenco.

In this imaginative tale, the clock always ticks the same rhythm—tick, tock—until one day it decides to tick in a different rhythm. In the distance, it hears “olé, olé!” and wonders if perhaps, this time, it will find friends.

The theatre performance, funded by Kannunik Salden Fonds, premiered at Vrijburght Theater Amsterdam and later played at festivals such as Rolling Nature Festival Almere and at primary schools. In collaboration with NGO Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland, De flamencoklok toured through ten asylum centres across the Netherlands during the Kindervakantiefestivals, bringing colour, music, and joy to children living in asylum.
